Our programs provide person-centered and holistic services, prioritizing culture
and ethnic identity to enhance the overall health, well-being, and self-sufficiency
of those served.

In high school, Peaceful was introduced to UPAC’s Alliance for Community Empowerment Program and joined one of our Youth Business Enterprise Cohorts. Instantly, she felt a sense of community.

Peaceful has continued her involvement with UPAC and was hired to work at UPAC’s Neighborhood Enterprise Center (NEC) in 2018 as a Café Associate. Since starting her employment, Peaceful has grown tremendously, mentored fellow youth, and recently received a promotion to Facilities Lead in the Fall of 2020.

Peaceful is working on her Master’s Degree in Social Work at SDSU!

Anthony started as a high school freshman in City Heights and within a month was introduced to UPAC’s Youth Business Enterprise Group. During the program, Anthony learned about starting his own business and participated in multiple community service events.

After his cohort ended, Anthony realized UPAC was the place he belonged. He felt part of a family and knew that staying engaged with the organization would keep him out of trouble and away from the wrong crowd. Throughout high school, he stayed involved in UPAC’s programming, became best friends with many of his fellow UPAC youth, and was hired to work at the Neighborhood Enterprise Center in 2018.

We Change Lives & Communities Through Social Enterprise Programs

The neighborhood Enterprise Center (NEC) and Timmy’s Place Pizzeria and Print are social enterprise programs—revenue generating businesses with a social mission.

When you eat and shop at NEC and Timmy’s Place, you receive quality food and merchandise while helping improve the lives of San Diego youth. All revenue generated from each social enterprise goes into the on-going operation of the program, providing jobs and opportunities for at-risk youth.
